National Park Service » Mesa Verde National Park Business Plan

The National Park Service (NPS) is an agency of the United States federal government that manages all U.S. national parks, many American national monuments, and other conservation and historical properties with various title designations. Percolate provides ongoing content strategy, copy editing, project management, visual design, and layout for National Park Service business plans. Percolate collaborates with NPS stakeholders to articulate the brand of each document which includes visual design goals and attributes. When necessary, Percolate creates artwork including infographics, illustrations, and iconography.

California Academy of Sciences » Website + Brochure

California Academy of Sciences is an international center for scientific education and research. It is at the forefront of efforts to understand and protect the diversity of the earth’s living things. The Academy needed a new web site that communicated their mission: to inspire appreciation, wonder, and conservation of the natural world. This project was done while Laura was a design director at Hot Studio in San Francisco. On this project, Laura, with Jisun Suh, was one of the primary visual designers. The brochure was conceived, designed, and created by Cody Andresen.

T.Y. Lin International is a global, multi-disciplinary infrastructure services firm providing a range of planning, design, construction, and project management services. Percolate collaborates withT.Y. Lin International to create dynamic ad placements for a number of global trade journals and publications. 

The City of Concord California » Inland Area Reuse Plan

The City of Concord California implemented a Reuse Plan for the former Concord Naval Weapons Station and the resulting Inland Area. The plan addresses needs for residential and commercial development, while reserving approximately two-thirds of the remaining land for open space and park projects. As part of the Arup team, Percolate collaborated with the City of Concord stakeholder group to articulate the brand of the public-facing document, which included visual design goals and attributes including the creation of drawings, infographics, illustrations, and iconography. The screens above represent inspiration for the page compositions, graphic styling, and illustration styles, many of which were were applied to the final publication.

City of San Francisco » Climate Action Strategy

The San Francisco Climate Action Strategy is a greenhouse gas reduction initiative adopted by the City and County of San Francisco. It aims to reduce the City’s greenhouse gas emissions to 20% below 1990 levels. As part of the Arup team, Percolate collaborated with stakeholders to ensure that technical subject matter was easy to understand, while conveying vision and policy to staff members, elected officials, and members of the public. Infographics were used to quantify data and help bring emphasis to targets and goals. The screens above represent some of the page compositions, graphic styling, and illustration styles, the majority of which were applied to the final publication.

Arup is a global firm of designers, engineers, planners, and business consultants that provide sustainable solutions for the built environment. Percolate collaborates with Arup to design large-scale banners for conferences and recruiting events.

University of California, Berkeley » Landscape Heritage Plan

The Landscape Heritage Plan is a planning document that was created for the University of California Berkeley. This plan examines key characteristics of the historic campus “core” and provides guidance for its continued development in a manner that respects and builds upon its unique landscape legacy. Collaborating with the Sasaki team, Cody Andresen designed both the printed and interactive document format, as well as a majority of the planning map graphics and illustrative maps.
